Promoting Decent Job Creation in the Soybean Production Chain: My Helping Hand Foundation

In recent years, the agricultural sector has played a vital role in the economic development of provinces across the region, with soybean production emerging as a key area for growth. My Helping Hand Foundation is proud to announce its participation in promoting the provincial soybean production chain, with a focus on fostering decent job creation for the Youths and sustainable agricultural practices supported by Musika Zambia and @UN food Agriculture organization FAO. The Importance of Soybean Production Soybeans are not only a versatile crop used for various food products and animal feed, but they also serve as a critical source of protein and essential oils globally. As demand for soy products continues to rise jobs should rie too for the Youths in the country, there is a pressing need to strengthen the production chain to ensure that local youthful farmers can benefit from this trend while promoting sustainable practices.

Organization Objectives and Goals

Enhance Skills and Training for Youths in farming: By providing training programs for local farmers, the initiative seeks to equip them with the necessary skills to improve their soybean cultivation methods, ensuring higher yields and better quality produce.

Create Employment Opportunities: The foundation recognizes the potential for job creation within the soybean production chain. From farming to processing and distribution, there are multiple phases where employment can be generated.

The initiative aims to create decent job opportunities for local communities, helping to reduce unemployment rates.

Promote Sustainable Practices:

Emphasizing environmentally friendly agricultural techniques, the foundation will educate farmers on sustainable practices that protect the local ecosystem while maximizing production. This includes crop rotation, organic farming methods, and efficient water usage.

Strengthen Market Access: The foundation will work to establish stronger connections between local youth farmers and markets, ensuring that they can sell their products at fair prices. By facilitating partnerships with cooperatives and agricultural organizations, the initiative aims to empower farmers and enhance their livelihoods.
